Kosovo is unable to find a way out of the political crisis that has blocked the country. The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, said that the solution that his party has offered to get out of the political deadlock, through a transitional government, remains on the table, but added that it has begun preparations for the upcoming local elections to be held in the fall.
"We gave a solution and it remains with them whenever others are ready," Abdixhiku wrote on the social network Facebook. But he stressed that until a solution is reached, LDK will deal with its own processes going forward, including the Local Elections.
The Democratic League of Kosovo has proposed the creation of a transitional government until the election of a new president early next year. The major Albanian parties have expressed their willingness to discuss the LDK's proposal for, but the Vetëvendosje Movement, which won the February 9 elections, has described it as unacceptable.
