There is no solution! Tensions and accusations in the tenth session

The Kosovo Assembly has not managed to be constituted even for the tenth time as the impasse has now remained over the establishment of a commission with party representatives to manage the secret ballot, which the Vetëvendosje Movement is demanding for the election of the speaker of parliament, but which is not receiving the support of the other major parties.

Saturday was the second attempt to have a secret vote, which caused tensions in the session. With PDK, LDK, Serbian List and AAK refusing to even propose representatives for this commission.

The Democratic Party confirmed that they have no votes for Albulena Haxhiu even if the proposal comes for her 100 times, calling for a change of candidacy.

"Albin Kurti does not have the votes to become prime minister, this is the fundamental reason why he is holding the state hostage and why he is holding the Assembly hostage because otherwise he will fall, which is more important for Albulena Haxhiu than the 966 thousand voters of the Republic of Kosovo who have given their verdict," said Memli Krasniqi of PDK.

The Democratic League and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo also accused the Vetëvendosje Movement of blocking and violating the rules.

"From April 15 until today, we have met every 48 hours, now LVV has changed its strategy, instead of putting Albulena and Haxhiu's name there, it has made a tactic and is asking for votes for a commission for secret voting," said Hykmete Bajrami from LDK.

"They don't have the votes to form this commission, they don't have the votes for their political games they are playing and if they don't change their approach they will continue like this and the fault lies with the Vetevendosje Movement, these are tactics of the LVV," declared Time Kadrijaj of AAK.

Vetevendosje insists that the secret ballot is not a violation of the rules. They accuse other parties of not being able to reach an agreement on a coalition and therefore want to buy time.

According to them, there are only two alternatives, either Vetëvendosje governs with small parties, or other parties with the Serbian List, but for the latter to happen, they are waiting, as stated, for international help to legitimize this coalition in the eyes of the public.

"I am very sure that if the opposition really did not just use it as a pretext but truly believed that this is a violation of the constitution, the opposition would let us commit this violation of the constitution in order for the Constitutional Court to overturn this decision," declared Donika Gërvalla of the Vetëvendosje Movement.

The next session to constitute the Assembly will be held on Monday, starting at 10:00.
