Over 5,000 police officers are engaged in guarding election facilities for the parliamentary elections to be held this Sunday, May 11.
The blue uniforms have been taken into custody by the CEAZs since the moment the election materials were delivered to them.
On Saturday morning, the officers who are scheduled to guard the voting centers are initially instructed and then distributed to the centers where they are deployed to perform their duties.
There are 93 election facilities across the country where CEAZ commissions are located and 5,225 facilities that will serve as Voting Centers on election day are being taken into custody by the State Police on Saturday.
On Sunday, May 11, voting day, with the handover in the morning of the facilities that serve as voting centers, police officers withdraw to the designated collection points and return to escort the election materials to the CEAZs at 7:00 PM.
According to the law, every police officer must remain 150 meters away from polling centers on election day. The intervention of officers inside and outside the centers should only be done at the request of the polling center commissions, coordinators, CEAZs and the CEC.
Meanwhile, at 6:00 PM on Sunday, the Police services will take custody of all vote counting sites and will remain there until the end of the process. (A2 Televizion)
