At the funeral ceremony for Archbishop Anastasios Janullatos, his niece Roksana Janullatos also gave a speech. What dominated her short and emotional speech was the word love, as she addressed the Albanians with the words; my brothers, while expressing her gratitude for the love shown to her uncle.
"Let me address the brothers of Albania. My brothers! On behalf of our family, I would like to thank you for the love you have shown for our uncle over these years. For us; Gjerasimin, Athens and me, he is our uncle, who has supported us from close by his word and from afar through his prayer."
The archbishop's niece also spoke about the love her uncle had for the Albanian people with whom he lived for 33 years, and about the love of God.
"You know how much he loved the people with whom he lived for more than 30 years, of Albania, the country that became his second homeland. My brothers, we Orthodox Christians know that God is love and he abides in the love that abides in God and God abides in him. This was the life of Anastas; love, sacrifice, justice, truth, humility, effort, courage and hope."
She appealed to Albanians to follow the example of the archbishop and emphasized that love does not discriminate between races, nations, states, and religions.
