Stray dogs in Vlora are becoming a serious concern for residents and tourists. Their presence in public areas, such as parks, bars and residential areas, raises questions about the safety and treatment of animals in the city. Stray dogs that roam freely in the territory of the city of Vlora have become a serious concern, especially for foreign tourists, writes A2 CNN.
Elena Moliboshko, a Polish citizen who has lived and worked in Vlora for several years, says that although most dogs are friendly, their presence in any public or private environment is excessive and measures should be taken. “I have never had a problem with them, but they are everywhere: in bars and cafes, in parks, near children. In Poland we have used mass sterilization and microchipping as a solution, without killing them.”
On the other hand, Liljana Breshani, director of a dog shelter and sterilization center, explains that bites mainly occur when dogs feel threatened.
The Vlora Regional Hospital reports dozens of cases of dog bites every year, affecting not only the city's residents, but also the tourists who visit. (A2 Televizion)
