Meteorologist Tanja Porja on A2 CNN has warned of an extreme heat wave that will affect the entire territory of Albania, starting on Monday of next week, where in some areas even historical temperature records may be broken.
"From Sunday until next Friday, the maximum thermometer will only increase. The middle of next week in the Berat region will approach the historical maximum of 44 degrees Celsius. There is a high probability that Berat will break the historical record for the highest temperature around Wednesday or Thursday. The most problematic areas are Elbasan and Shkodra, but mainly the Berat region, which will be very hot on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The rest of Albania will have temperatures of 35 degrees Celsius and above. The afternoon will be very hot, from 10 am to 4 pm," the meteorology forecast.
Further, Porja announced that we will have temperatures between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius in all mountainous areas, including the deeper ones that are usually cool.
"We expect 38-41 degrees Celsius in the northeastern mountainous areas. Kukës will rise to 39-40 degrees Celsius next week. All cities, including the capital, will exceed 40 degrees. After the 25th, we are at the peak of this heat wave. Next week, in certain areas of the country's territory, the thermometer will mark 30 degrees Celsius even at night. The wind will be at least average on the sea coasts, but at the peak of the heat it will be somewhat problematic," said Porja. (A2 Televizion)
