The November holidays and the approach of the end of the year have increased the prices of plane tickets. A round trip flight from Rinas on December 9 and return on December 12 costs on average from 250 euros per person. Ticket prices from Tirana to Istanbul and vice versa, but also for Milan, Vienna, Tokyo or Bali, have increased by 5 to 15 percent.
"It is not the fault of the one who is selling expensive. It's our fault that we didn't buy it earlier, taking advantage of cheaper prices. If we will be forced to travel on a certain date or day, of course that is the price", said Besnik Vathi, president of the Association of Tour Operators.
The data from the flight companies show that the biggest increase in prices has occurred precisely towards the most preferred destinations of Albanians.
"A company works with sales ratios. If there is a lot of demand on a flight, date or time, then the last seats are always sold expensively", he said.
Despite the introduction of another "low cost" operator, the data show that in this period of the year it is becoming almost impossible to find tickets for 20, 40 or even 50 euros.
"At other times of the year, the operators have almost made a loss. Therefore, in this period they use the flow, to cover the losses from "low cost" tickets, said Vathi.
According to some tourism agencies in the country, Ulcinj, Paris, Barcelona, Budapest, Florence, Madrid, Amsterdam and Dubai are among the cities most requested by Albanians to spend the end of the year holidays.
