Almost 6.5 million euros in less than a month. This is how much money the Albanian Electricity Corporation earned after three tendering procedures for the sale of electricity during November. KESH has exported more than 63 thousand megawatts of energy, with an average price of 100 euros.
The sale of overproduction comes as a result of the improvement of the water situation in the Drin Cascade, mainly from the rains of the last weeks that have restored balance in the energy sector.
In fact, almost the whole year, with the exception of summer, has been good in terms of electricity production. Between January and September, KESH sold electricity in the amount of 81.2 million euros, while it spent less than 36 million euros to buy it.
The water level in Fierza lake has reached about 275 meters, from 296 which is the maximum quota. Komani has reached a little more than 171 meters, while Vau i Deja is almost 74 meters, about 1 meter less than the maximum point.
Together with the optimistic forecasts for the continuation of the rains, albeit with fluctuations, and the price of energy on the stock market warns of satisfactory profits for KESH. On the Hungarian Stock Exchange, one megawatt/hour of energy is being sold for an average of 10 euros, the highest price for the period.
