The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Anila Denaj, during her speech at today's parliamentary session, focused on the situation created by the plague disease in small livestock in the country, emphasizing that despite the challenges, the situation is under control.
Denaj pointed out the importance of the draft law “On Animal Health”, which supports the processes of free identification, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases in livestock. “This field work has ensured the preservation of the synoptic situation in Albania, compared to countries in the region”, she stated.
The Minister emphasized that, although Albania is one of the countries affected by the plague, the damage in the country is much smaller compared to neighboring countries, such as Greece and Romania, where tens and hundreds of thousands of animals have been damaged.
According to her, 10 crisis centers have currently been identified in Albania, where the spread of the disease is being carefully managed.
Denaj also praised the work of the State Police and Customs for their support in guarding the border and preventing illegal entries that could endanger the situation.
She appealed to all farmers to respect the protocols and standards established for the purchase and trading of livestock.
The Minister informed that so far, around 1,800 animals have been executed to keep the situation under control.
"The situation is affecting us significantly, but we are managing it very effectively," the minister declared. (A2 Televizion)
