The Special Prosecution Office has sent three officials to trial for electoral corruption in 2019, writes A2 CNN.
Through a notice, SPAK announces that the criminal case is in charge of the defendants Dritan Stoka, Agim Osma, Alqi Hajdini and Ylli Baruti for the criminal offenses "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions", "Active corruption of persons exercising public functions" and "Exercising illegal influence over persons exercising public functions".
It is also known that they have requested from various persons the preparation of voter lists, forcing them to vote or determining the method of voting, in exchange for irregular benefits that include staying in the job or even issuing legalization permits for voters' informal constructions in the Sauk area of Tirana.
Also, in connection with this investigation, criminal proceedings have been initiated against other persons involved in these illegal activities, writes A2 CNN.

SPAK sends three officials to trial for electoral corruption
The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, on April 7, sent criminal proceedings no. 100 of 2020* to the Court of First Instance for trial.
The criminal case is in charge of the defendants Dritan Stoka. Agim Osma, Alqi Hajdini and Ylli Baruti for the criminal offenses "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions", "Active corruption of persons exercising public functions" and "Exercise of illegal influence over persons exercising public functions", provided for by articles 259, 244 and 245, first paragraph of the Criminal Code.
From the entirety of the investigative actions, it has been fully proven that the defendants; Dritan Stoka, an official of the General Directorate of the Albanian Anti-Corruption Agency and Agim Osma, mayor of Lagje e Re, Sauk Tirana, have consumed the elements of the criminal offenses "Exercise of illegal influence over persons exercising public functions", committed in collaboration, provided for by articles 245/1, paragraph 2 and 25 of the Criminal Code (before the amendment by law no. 43/2021, dated 23.3.2021) and "Active corruption in elections", committed in collaboration, provided for by articles 328 and 25 of the Criminal Code, after they committed active actions during the electoral campaign for the 2019 local elections.
They have demanded from various people the preparation of voter lists, forcing them to vote or determining the voting method, in exchange for irregular benefits; staying in their jobs or even issuing legalization permits for voters' informal constructions in the Sauk area of Tirana.
From the intercepted conversations included in the criminal proceedings file, it has resulted that through their actions, in collaboration with each other, through the search, receipt and acceptance, directly or indirectly, of irregular benefits, they have influenced the provision of permits for the legalization of unauthorized constructions of several citizens.
For the defendants Alqi Hajdini, who at the time of the commission of the acts held the position of lawyer of ALUIZNI Tirana Jug and then ASHK Tirana Jug, and citizen Ylli Baruti, in the role of intermediary, have consumed the elements of the criminal offense "Exercise of illegal influence over persons exercising public functions", committed in collaboration, provided for by articles 245/1, paragraph 2 and 25 of the Criminal Code (before amendment by law no. 43/2021, date 23.3.2021), since with their actions, in collaboration with each other, through the direct search, receipt and acceptance of irregular benefits or monetary rewards, they have influenced the provision of legalization permits for the unauthorized constructions of citizens GK, NS, EM and KD.
In connection with this investigation, acts have been singled out in criminal proceedings no. 100/1 of 2020 for other persons involved in these illegal activities. (A2 Televizion)
