According to A2 CNN, due to the absence of Hysen and Hygerta Meta, the victim's other two children, all three arrested for the crime, in court, the court has postponed the process, requiring their physical presence, which is mandatory at the hearing, to give their first statements. In December, the Durrës Prosecutor's Office completed the investigation and brought to trial five people accused of their involvement in this serious crime, including the victim's three children, their mother, and another person who helped hide the evidence. The charge of murder in collaboration weighs heavily on the brother and sister Hysen and Hygerta Meta.

Hysen Meta, one of the main defendants, faces charges of "Murder due to family relations", "Unlicensed possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", and "Hiding and disposal of a corpse", committed in collaboration.

Hygerta Meta, who has taken responsibility for the crime, is also accused of murder due to family relations, as well as concealment and destruction of the corpse. Meanwhile, their brother Amarildo Meta is accused of "Concealing and destruction of the corpse", committed in collaboration, based on Article 303 of the Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, Blerina Meta, the victim's wife, is accused of "Acts that hinder the discovery of the truth", under Article 301 of the Criminal Code.

Sajmon Bajramaj, the owner of the vehicle used by the defendants to hide evidence, is also involved in this case. He is charged with "Failure to report a crime", as he is suspected of having helped remove the victim's car in the Sektor Rinia area.

According to the prosecution, the motives for the crime are related to deep conflicts within the family. After the murder, the defendants are suspected of having collaborated to hide the body and evidence.
