The person in the photo above is 30-year-old Kristjan Marku, who was executed yesterday evening in an assassination attempt on the Fier-Vlora highway, near the Novosela area.
The vehicle Mark was traveling in was hit by a burst of automatic fire while in motion. According to the investigation team, the victim was hit by 3 bullets out of 11 shell casings found at the scene, one of which proved fatal.
Investigators suspect that the 30-year-old's execution was carried out for reasons of enmity. For this reason, some of the apartments that police searched on Monday evening are in Rrëshen and belong to the Reçi tribe, with whom the Marku tribe ( also known as Bardhi ) has been at enmity for years.
A2 CNN learns that four members of the Reçi tribe have been taken to the police for questioning and during their statements they have denied any connection to the murder of the young man in Vlora.
Kristjan Marku was a person with a criminal record. He was arrested for attempted murder in 2023, when he tried to kill Sajmir Reçi, the nephew of Kastriot Reçi.
The feud continued, with Kristjan's uncle, Martin Bardhi, being killed in a bar in Rrëshen in September 2023.
