Police in Durrës have arrested a 51-year-old man, who is accused of giving a jet ski to a 21-year-old Belgian man, who was injured in the Kavaja Rock area after maneuvers at sea.
The floating vehicle, which was being driven by someone else, lost control and fell into the water, leaving the young man from Belgium seriously injured, who after first aid was transported to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana for more specialized assistance.
"Crime Investigation Specialists of the Plazh Police Station arrested citizen S. Xh., 51 years old, resident of Tirana, in flagrante delicto, for the criminal offenses of "Violation of occupational safety regulations" and "Actions that impede the discovery of the truth," the police inform.
From the investigative actions carried out for the incident that occurred yesterday, in the area called "Shkëmbi i Kavajës", it resulted that " citizen S. Xh. rented a Jet Ski, without the necessary safety measures, to Belgian citizen HK, who is not equipped with a driving license for this category of vehicles ."
The police also explain that citizen S. Xh., during the course of carrying out procedural actions, provided false information about the case.
" The HK citizen, who was injured during maneuvers with the floating vehicle, continues to be in the hospital, under the care of doctors ," the police further reported. (A2 Televizion)
