For two days, 63-year-old Çengjëll Kanani has been missing and is suspected of drowning in the waters of the Vjosa River.
According to sources for A2 CNN, the police report was filed by his 64-year-old friend, both residents of Berat. According to a resident of the village of Kashisht, Aleksandër Rakipi, the two fishermen came to the area almost every day to fish with a hook.
On the day of the incident, they were seen fishing in different places and had left a meeting place around 2:30 p.m., a meeting that never took place. According to Rakipi, the missing 63-year-old suffered from a heart condition and is suspected to have fallen into the waters of the Vjosa River.
"This river can drown you at any time," he says, "if you don't know it," adding that there have been constant checks by the police, who have combed the entire area. The father of two has been fishing in the Vjosa River for three years, writes A2 CNN.
Meanwhile, the search for the 63-year-old continues in collaboration with RENEA divers and is not focused only along the river, but in the entire area of Kashisht and Kafaraj. (A2 Televizion)
