Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced an emergency meeting at Skanderbeg Square, with Tirana Municipality employees, today at 4:30 PM.
Sources for A2 CNN indicate that the meeting comes after the arrest of Mayor Erion Veliaj, on charges of corruption and abuse of office.
We recall that earlier last week, Rama held meetings with the deputy mayors of Tirana, where it was decided to delegate Mayor Veliaj's signature to Anuela Ristani.
We also recall that many municipal employees, but also Veliaj's sympathizers, last week during the court hearing against the mayor, came out to protest in front of SPAK in support of him.
