"The EU does not donate anything", Rama: It is neither a German

Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that the European Union is strict in the procedures and standards it follows for the implementation of reforms with the aim of a country's entry into the EU.

"The EU does not forgive anything, it does not donate anything. When it comes to the standards and criteria that a state must meet, there is neither geopolitics, nor war, nor crisis, since other things are happening, let's do these other things. This is so true that even Ukraine when it comes to EU steps has to do each task one by one and does not become a member without completing those tasks according to EU standards. And I generously quote him, yes, this is the reason that this process is a blessing to build Europe here, this is why it is lucky that we are in the center of Europe and not in Afghanistan, because as the special commission has a line of experts who bring the common document for different fields and give the full value of the country of knowledge, a source of knowledge about how the rule of law is built that no one has and is not found anywhere else in the EU. This gives us the opportunity not only to dream, but also to build the rule of law", said Rama, writes A2.

"Today, Albania ranks first in the region for public procurement from the point of view of efficiency, transparency and integrity. And to get here, the EU, which is not a German newspaper, but an institution with a magnifying glass, uses an instrument, experts who analyze the countries, the same instrument that was used before and when we were in government and did not say these things that says today. He has said much more unpleasant things. Albania is the first, public procurement is where the EU has not set intermediate milestones for us, because it considers it a European system, however strange it may seem to those who start the day, continue it and end it with corruption, one in three words have corruption and they use this word without thinking twice. I'm not just talking about those who make accusations on the street, but also about those who want the best for us. Is this right? Another fact, money laundering. The Basel index comes out, which is not a German newspaper or an Italian scandal show, and says that Albania has made a progress in the fight against money laundering, where in the classification table there are some 7 or 8 EU countries that are below Albania. They say, either for public procurements or for the second one, I know very well where they are based, that we refer to facts and not perceptions", added Prime Minister Edi Rama.
