Sali Berisha has returned to his old request, once again inviting Prime Minister Edi Rama to a debate. In a conversation with residents of the capital, the leader of the Democratic Party accused the prime minister of being afraid of himself and called on him to leave monologues behind and present his programs in a direct debate before the citizens.
"Now he will make the electoral campaign a banal joke, a parody, something worthless, so that the serious program that we present to the citizens, can be compared with his banalities. Now I have no desire to ever meet that man, but I tell you here, I invite him to come out to debate in front of the citizens. Leave the monologues every morning with toads, lizards and herons and order, sir, to go out as you wish, with journalists, without journalists, with citizens, without citizens, order us to go out to present our program for the Albanian citizen and Albania. He can't come because now I understand, he is afraid of himself. Yes, absolutely."
In his speech, Berisha also promised legalization of constructions, ensuring that there will be no urbanization before legalization.
"There are accumulated problems here. Legalization. I signed a pact, a contract with the residents for legalization. There are two basic points of this pact. There will never be urbanization before legalization. We have not done it. The state must be fair. And when the state is fair, the citizen also follows the law more. Then we do not do urbanization before legalization. We will legalize and I guarantee everyone that those permits that they have given you will all be called land titles and you will finally enjoy them."
He has also criticized the Rama government for mismanaging the integration process and emphasized the importance of the reforms made by the DP for Albania's integration into the European Union.
Berisha stressed that his goal is to improve conditions for citizens and support businesses, underlining tax cuts for businesses and salary increases for employees. He also mentioned support for the diaspora, promising 5 years of tax-free living for those who invest in Albania. (A2 Televizion)
