The head of the Democratic Party Youth Forum (FRPD), Besart Xhaferri, invited to the "Off the Record" studio with Andrea Dangli, on A2 CNN, stated that the inclusion of Tedi Blushi and Erisa Xhixho from the Freedom Party in the DP list is a "political calculation".
"The Freedom Party has 4 seats on the closed list. This party, in 2021, received 107,000 votes. They allude that this party no longer has that many votes, but I don't believe that anyone in Albania thinks that this party has less than 40,000 votes. 4 mandates on the closed list coincide with 40,000 votes. I think they have much more than that, because they will also try to bring MPs from the open lists. They are a party that justifies those 4 seats with the votes it will bring to the coalition. The same applies to the Republican Party, which has only one MP on the closed list, but brings more than 10,000 votes. The same goes for the Agrarian Party, PBDNJ and PDIU. For the 8 seats of the allies on the closed list, I think there are over 100,000 votes that come to our coalition," Xhaferri explained.
"Democrats know that the only thing that matters is to overthrow Edi Rama and they are galvanized and mobilized for this. We have the approval of the Democrats to make this list because we are forced to make this list, not because we chose it. This list is a product of that 2021 electoral code that abolished the pre-election coalition," Xhaferri added.
When asked if he was sure that this list was without errors, the FRPD leader said: "I consider it a winning list because with this list we maximize the opposition vote with this list. I would like to have other parties, to give even more seats. For example, Mr. Shehaj, Mr. Lapaj... I would like them all in the opposition coalition, losing even more seats in the closed list.
