Former candidate of the 'Euroatlantic Coalition' party, Shemsi Prençi, has stated that the leader of the Democrat Party, Sali Berisha, did not make the necessary efforts to include other opposition parties in the same coalition, which, according to him, received 220 thousand votes.
Prençi made the comments on 'Ditari i Pasdites' with journalist Bruna Çifligu on A2 CNN, where he said that Berisha spent more energy on introducing parties that did not have votes into the 'Alliance for a Greater Albania' coalition, rather than political entities that had more citizen support.
He also said that if all opposition parties were to unite in a single front, a spirit would be created which, according to Prenç, would bring at least 100,000 additional votes to the opposition and prevent voter fraud, writes A2 CNN.
"The opposition leadership spent more energy on bringing non-existent parties into the coalition that did not receive any votes, that did not even have candidates within the coalition. Parties that did have candidates, such as the Freedom Party, the New Democratic Party led by Sali Shehu, received 1,400 votes.
So, to consume energy to get a party with 1400 votes and not to consume energy to introduce 220 thousand votes, which are a total of 7 opposition political parties, into the coalition, this is not the foresight of a leader who aims for political rotation. If the spirit had been created, there would have been over 750 thousand votes. Berisha has stated in the media that Lapaj, Agron Shehaj, Lulzim Basha, are the crutches of the Socialist Party.
"If we continue to please Sali Berisha, we have buried democracy. If we continue to be rational critics of the phenomena that have occurred in the elections, we do good to the DP, democracy, but also to Berisha himself.
