Interpellation for the murder of the 14-year-old, Minister Manastirliu attacks

The Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, spoke today at the hearing about the murder of 14-year-old Martin Cani, for which he was called by the opposition.

During her speech, Manastirliu attacked the democratic deputy Ina Zhupa, who also asked for the interpellation in question, saying that she used bullying and insulting language in the Parliament.

She also showed some of the measures taken by the ministry that she leads, to improve the safety of students and education in Albania, writes A2 CNN.

"Responding to your lie that I did not react, I spoke from the first moment from this pulpit after the incident of the murder of the 14-year-old. I have stated my position on the tragic event and it is this: 'hate speech, verbal threats, insults, are the worst example we can give to children starting from this hall. They are the worst service we can do to children, parents and citizens. You were not slow to set your bad example from this pulpit.

You got up here and used abusive language. You had asked for an urgent interpellation and told the children all over Albania what language you used to speak to the children there from your side. I am sure that the citizens from your side are ashamed to have listened to you. The teachers who educate our children are ashamed to have listened to you. You stood up for the problem and became the problem yourself.

We have models that have been taken from different countries of the world, where France, Spain and Australia are setting age barriers for opening accounts on social networks. We are carrying out this consultation with parents and will decide on the next step. A few days ago we presented the updated curriculum framework for Albanian children. There are improvements in terms of civic, digital and legal education. Technology is not the problem, it is the solution", said Manastirliu, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
