After the decision of the Central Election Commission not to terminate the mandate of the mayor of Kuçova, Kreshnik Hajdari, the reaction of his opponent on May 14, Lefter Maliqi, was immediate. According to him, such a decision is shameful, he even described it as a big scandal.

"Down with the dictatorship. Dictator Edi Rama has bought the CEC, a great shame and a great scandal, what he is doing here with them, is the biggest shame of Albania, we voted for him in the parliament, that when he gives false statements, he automatically leaves the mandate, they don't ask parliament or the Supreme Court", said Lefter Maliqi.

"Re-establishment" claims that Kreshnik Hajdari hid the 4-month prison sentence, which was later converted into probation for illegal crossing of the border by the Greek state. In today's session, the defense lawyers said that the measure of punishment is not important, but the fact that he hid it, he did not declare it even though he was aware of it.
