The Electoral College has officially closed the appeals process for the May 11 elections, dismissing 12 lawsuits filed by the Democratic Party. Among them were the latest appeals for the Elbasan, Durrës and Fier regions, writes A2 CNN. The decision paves the way for the Central Election Commission to certify the final results of the parliamentary elections.

In a reaction to the media after the decision, the DP's legal representative, Marash Logu, harshly criticized the judicial process, describing the investigation as shallow and unfounded.

"The commission did not delve into the investigations. A superficial treatment. This process has been accompanied by some surprising things. You saw that CEC representatives declared that the OSCE reports are not evidence...", said Marash Logu, legal representative of the DP.

Meanwhile, the legal representative of the Socialist Party, Eridian Salianji, praised the decisions of the College as clear evidence that the electoral process was legal and regular. "The rejection of 12 complaints shows that the elections were in order. As was established in this process of more than two months, it was proven that none of the DP's claims proved the violations it mentioned. 12 decisions, all within the legal framework, this was a process that proceeded in accordance with the law," he said.

Following the Electoral College's decisions, all legal efforts by the opposition to request a repeat of the elections have been closed. It now remains for the CEC to issue the final certification of the May 11 elections in the coming days. (A2 Televizion)
