Prime Minister Rama described the call by the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, to school students and their parents to take part in a protest on March 15 for the closure of the social network TikTok as a symptom of misguidance.
The head of government explains through a video that the decision to close TikTok is not an act of censorship and adds that this social network will remain closed until the company presents the detailed plan of additional security measures that it has promised during the dialogue with the authorities.
"The owl calls on children not to go to school because of TikTok. This is the swamp and its philosophy until the owl is there. 95% of parents and teachers told us to close TikTok an hour ago. We entered into a dialogue with the company and are waiting for its plan for increased security measures. The reason why the decision was made a week ago has to do with technical capacities. This has nothing to do with freedom of speech and I hope that the closure will be temporary until the company gives us a convincing plan. The owl's appeal for children not to go to school should be taken seriously as a symptom of dangerous delusion, which makes you laugh to see these crayfish," Rama said, among other things.
