Prime Minister Edi Rama, in a meeting with the Socialist Party group, declared that only the majority will lead Albania to the European Union, and not what he called "a quagmire of quagmires".
"EU membership is more than ever an existential issue for the Albanian people. In a world where the path to peace between Russia and Ukraine has been opened, all world geopolitics has been put into extraordinary motion. We are small in this vast context, but our interest is too great to be left in an unknown direction. Whether it is regarding the EU or NATO, our voice, our presence and our internal security, which means our secure, stable and unwavering position from the quagmire that cannot echo outside the perimeter of the swamp, is fundamental. There are no other capacities besides the SP that can speak to the EU, NATO and the world, there are none," the prime minister said, A2 writes.
"Without joining the EU, it remains very important who governs in Albania. It is very important who governs for EU membership, we are the guarantee, others have said that they will reverse the reform, neutralize SPAK, undo the Justice Reform. This can only be done by the forces that have great concerns about justice in relation to the public interest. These forces are declared, all of Albania and the whole world know them," Rama added.
