Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated that Albanians should vote for the Socialist Party on May 11, as according to him, otherwise they could lose the country's integration into the European Union.
Rama made the comments during a meeting with citizens in Belsh, where he said that even if several months of delay pass from the process of opening negotiations, the door to the European Union could be closed.
He also said that the SP is more capable than the DP, while adding that it will take many years for those who are in opposition today to approach the Socialist Party officials with competence, writes A2 CNN.
"The misconception that this is an issue that depends only on Edi Rama and the SP. It is not so. Why is this related to May 11 and why do I say that only we do this? Not that I want to say that only we do, but that this is the truth. There is no time, even if others were as capable as we are, which they are not, which is a fact.
We have our flaws, but they are not more capable than us. And when they are able to approach us, as we know, as we have learned, as we have power because we are the greatest political force of Albanians, I personally will no longer be of this world.
What is important is time. So if they were another party, all the movement, change, reorganization would take 6 months. Time is running out, 2027 is not reached and the EU door could be closed. And who knows when 2027 will come again. This is the part of the mission that has fallen to us," said Rama.
