In a press conference, the DP leader claimed that citizens did not vote freely and that many of them were even threatened with weapons. Citing an international document, the Copenhagen Charter, which specifies the basic principles of elections, Berisha claims that this document has not been respected.
"In these elections, the most fundamental principles of fair elections were violated, for which Albania signed the Copenhagen document. Albania has embodied this document and the principles of this document in the country's Constitution and in the electoral code," said the chief democrat.
There is a call for the Central Election Commission not to release the election results, as he claims, the violations are numerous and he places the emphasis on voting from abroad. "No result can be released on the monstrous falsification that was done in these elections. The battle for the non-recognition of the result, he claims, will be fought on two fronts, where in addition to protests within the country, increased attention will be paid to dialogue with internationals.
