The United States Embassy in Tirana has clarified Albanian citizens regarding US visa deadlines and the length of stay in the US for international visitors.
In a post on social media, the Embassy notes that the visa expiration date does not determine the permitted length of stay in the US.
According to the Embassy, it is the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officer who determines the length of visitors' stay in the US, writes A2 CNN.
"A U.S. visa allows you to travel to a port of entry in the United States and request permission to enter the country. The length of your stay is determined by the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officer at the time of your arrival," the Embassy said in a statement.
"The Customs and Border Protection officer sets the 'accept by...' date at the time of arrival, not from the visa expiration date," the announcement further states. (A2 Televizion)
