May 8 will be the day when the first plane will land on the runway of Vlora airport. This was confirmed by Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, who inspected today the works that are nearing completion on the runway of Vlora international airport.
"The tower looks finished, but there are still scaffolding. The terminal also looks somewhat finished, but we must know that we are talking about a very large area. I am confident that we will meet the deadlines so that not only Vlora has an airport, but that all of Albania has another international airport. Then see you on May 8th," concluded Balluku.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy from the construction site said that work is being done in three shifts to meet the deadlines for the completion of the Vlora airport, which will offer 1,200 jobs and will be the second in the country after the "Mother Teresa" airport in Tirana.
"This construction site is booming, and there are three shifts working here. It's not just any construction site, it's the runway of an international airport. The work that is done here requires a lot of care and all standards must be met. We are setting up logistics, warehouses. Not only will passenger flights be carried out, but also cargo flights. We have another component, which is the Civil Aviation Academy. This new airport opens 1,200 jobs. This is the first Albanian industry that is in line with all the requirements of European countries. It will be one of the points of economic development and the greatest tourism of the entire country. It must be said that we have very good partners from Italy," said Balluku. (A2 Televizion)
