Drashovica, known in the history of Albania for its resistance against invaders, today has returned to protests, but this time against those who seek to alienate what nature has forgiven this area.
It is about numerous diversions of the water sources of Kuči and Vjosa as well as all the residents of the Vlora river from a project that aims to supply water to the coast of the municipality of Himara.
Residents of the area, supported by environmentalists from Vlora and Tirana, protested in Drashovica, blocking the national road.
For environmentalist Sazan Guri, this project, more than supplying Himara with water, causes the area to be depopulated by its inhabitants.
This is the second protest held and according to the residents, no response has come to stop what they describe as a natural massacre. (A2 Televizion)
