Albania-Kosovo "without borders", agreement enters into force

Citizens of Albania and Kosovo can move without border controls from May 1 to September 30.

The agreement signed last spring between the two governments came into force again this Thursday, enabling free movement without a passport or identity card.

This agreement significantly facilitates movement during the tourist season and provides for a total of nine months per year with free circulation, writes A2 CNN.

According to the agreement, citizens of Kosovo and Albania can cross the border without a passport or identity card during the period May 1 - September 30 and November 1 - February 28 of the following year.

Only in the early hours of the morning, the Morina point has faced an increased influx of travelers from Kosovo, who have chosen Albania to celebrate May 1st and spend a few days near the coast.

Reducing border barriers not only speeds up movement, but also further strengthens ties between the two countries. (A2 Televizion)
