A fire broke out this afternoon in the Kordhocë neighborhood of the Lazarat administrative unit, endangering surrounding homes. According to preliminary information, the fire broke out at around 16:20 in an area of dry grass and spread rapidly due to weather conditions and terrain.
Gjirokastra Fire Department employees are at the scene and are working intensively to isolate and extinguish the flames.
Firefighters determined from the very beginning that the fire was large and that there was a direct danger to several nearby homes.
