17-year-old girl in Vlora attempted to end her life, father arrested, grandfather prosecuted

New details have been revealed by the Vlora police regarding the incident that occurred yesterday afternoon, where a 17-year-old attempted suicide with a firearm.

The Blues of Vlora announce that they have arrested the teenager's father, as it is suspected that it was the psychological violence exerted by him that pushed his daughter towards the extreme act.

"Following the investigative actions being carried out under the direction of the Prosecution, to clarify the circumstances of the incident that occurred yesterday afternoon, in the "Kushtrimi" neighborhood, where a 17-year-old citizen was seriously injured after attempting suicide with a firearm, the specialists for the Investigation of Crimes of the Vlora Police Commissariat: arrested in flagrante delicto, for the criminal offenses of "Domestic Violence" and "Causing Suicide", citizen SS, 43 years old, resident of the village of Roma, Vlora, as it is suspected that, due to the violence exerted against his minor daughter, she attempted suicide, in a serious psychological state, with a firearm, suspected to be a pistol", the police inform.

The 17-year-old's grandfather has also been released on bail, as it is suspected that the pistol she used to commit suicide was illegally possessed by him.

"The materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office where proceedings were initiated against citizen PH, 76 years old, the minor's grandfather, for the criminal offense of "Unlicensed possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", as he is suspected of illegally possessing the firearm with which his granddaughter attempted to commit suicide", the police further explain.

It is also reported that work continues to find the firearm, which is suspected to have been hidden by the family members after the incident, as well as carrying out other investigative actions, with the aim of fully documenting the mechanism and circumstances of this event.

Meanwhile, the 17-year-old, who received a bullet in the head, is in the Trauma Hospital, under the care of doctors.

Yesterday, A2 CNN learned from sources near the Vlora hospital that the teenager was conscious when she arrived there, but at first she lost consciousness and fell into a coma. According to doctors, she has two head injuries, one in the eye area, near the gallbladder, and another in the upper part of the head, where the bullet fortunately exited, avoiding a hemorrhage that would have been fatal for her.
