On behalf of the Spanish authorities, the police have arrested a 28-year-old man in a villa in Durrës, who is accused of being a member of a criminal organization that trafficked narcotics.
"As a result of the checks carried out based on information provided by police intelligence, regarding the location of a citizen on international wanted list, the Operational Services of the Durrës Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Narcotics Investigation Section, have organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Ghost". During this operation, citizen IM, 28 years old, resident of the village of Likmetaj, Durrës, was captured in Durrës and arrested for the purpose of extradition to Spain," the police inform.
The Madrid court had declared the young man from Durrës internationally wanted, after with the decision dated December 28, 2023, it assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Criminal organization", "Drug trafficking" and "Laundering of proceeds of crime", according to the Spanish Criminal Code.
For these offenses, the maximum penalty provided is 26 years in prison. Meanwhile, Interpol Tirana and Interpol Madrid will carry out the procedures for the extradition of this citizen to Spain. (A2 Televizion)
