The Attica Homicide Department has arrested two people from Albania for the cold-blooded murder of a 47-year-old Greek citizen of Albanian origin last December in Thrakomakedones.
According to foreign media, they organized an ambush for him, during which they seriously injured another man.
According to initial information, the arrested are aged 42 and 43 and had shot from inside a car, which they had stolen before the crime.
Information from police sources indicates that Heraklis Davelas, who lost his life, was a Greek of Albanian origin, a bar owner in Peristeri. The police initially assessed that it was a case of settling scores, given the 45-year-old's past, who is suspected of having links to three crime figures who were killed in the ongoing war between rival Greek mafia groups.
Also, in 2009, charges were filed against the victim for criminal organization, extortion, and other activities, and after that he seems to have had no further problems with the authorities.
However, a key figure in the criminal case was the man who was seriously injured in the head and abdomen. The injured man had recently traveled to Greece from Dubai, and investigators believe he may have been the target of the attack.
In other words, they estimate that perhaps his arrival in Greece occurred for a specific reason and mobilized a rival group, which wanted to remove him from the road. (A2 Televizion)
