Prime Minister Edi Rama, in the speech held in the Assembly of Kosovo, during the joint meeting of the two assemblies, stated that all the blame for the degradation of the dialogue should fall on Serbia, but added that "the anger of our strategic allies with Kosovo prevents us from to do for Kosovo as much as we would like".
"We expect that at the Hague summit next year, Albania will be announced as the host country of the NATO Summit in 2027. This year is also expected to be the year of closing Albania's EU membership negotiations and in 2030, Albania will be a member of the EU with full rights. 10 years ago, this was a peak that could not even be seen with binoculars. We are no longer figurants in the family photos of the international community, but we have an important and defining role for our region, which today more than ever has a special meaning for tomorrow's Europe", Rama began his speech, writes A2.
Further, the head of the Albanian government recalled the words of Ibrahim Rugova: "I quote, "The common objectives are integration into the EU, NATO and permanent friendship with the USA. Albanians today are the most dynamic people in this part of Europe". These apparently simple words are all we need and are enough to not lose the historical union with the European family and not to forget that we can only use this chance as the good brave with many friends" .
Rama emphasized how important it is to maintain good relations with strategic allies: "How happy we would be if we were side by side with Kosovo on this journey, if we were together at the table of the Balkan nations at the head of country, as the embodiment of European values in this region, where we are the only nation that speaks a language as old as the genesis of the West itself. My fervent wish is that we are not one at the negotiating table, the other on the EU sanctions list, which, by the way, is absolute nonsense. Together with the President (Osmani), we strongly insisted that those measures be removed and that the funds blocked due to the measures should not be burned. But, we must be hand in hand, peace-loving and peace-keeping, to convince the skeptics about the recognition of Kosovo as a state. The burden of guilt for the degradation of the dialogue process should fall entirely on Serbia and not one gram on Kosovo. The anger of our strategic allies with Kosovo prevents us from doing as much as we would like for Kosovo". (A2 Televizion)
