Rama: Thaçi is kept in a cell, hostage to an international justice that has disappointed everyone

Prime Minister Edi Rama stated in the Assembly of Kosovo that "Thaçi, Krasniqi, Veseli and Selimi continue to be held hostage for almost 5 years in the cells of an international justice which at every step has disappointed everyone who expected from it the virtues of justice of a rule of law".

"Where are the KLA representatives today? Without Hashim Thaçi and his friends, who traveled together with Ibrahim Rugova, Rexhep Qosen and others, to meet the new history of Albanians in these mountains, we do not know what path the fate of Kosovo would have taken at the beginning of this century . But today would be more like the past than the future without the Kosovo Liberation Army without Hashim Thaçin at the head", said Rama, writes A2.

"But, today that we are all here in the Assembly where the Independence of Kosovo was declared, Thaçi, Krasniqi, Veseli and Selimi continue to be held hostage for almost 5 years in the cells of an international justice which at every step has disappointed everyone who has waited from it the virtues of justice of a state of law. I have never discussed the right of that Special Court to do the work assigned to it by the decision-making of this room, but there is a very strong doubt that that process is an irregular legal process and that its norms are below the standards of justice of all democratic countries that finance that kind of court. I can't stay without telling you my surprise that no initiative has been taken in this room to request through a resolution the establishment of a verification mission related to concerns about the standards of that court. Perhaps this concern may not remain, but if it remains, this is a big disaster for those 4 people and for the integrity of international justice. That disaster, if it is disaster, cannot be allowed to do its damage. I want you to know that if the Assembly of Kosovo would take the initiative for this resolution to share the concern and if we were asked for such an initiative to be joined by Albania, the SP would be committed to depositing the same initiative in the Assembly of Albania", added Rama.
