Today, Albania marks the 111th anniversary of Independence, one of the nation's most important events that is commemorated every year with pride and patriotism by all Albanians everywhere.
On November 28, 1912, Ismail Qemali raised the flag in Vlora, declaring Albania a sovereign and independent state.
On the occasion of this marked day, the local and central authorities have organized numerous events that will be held in several cities of the country.
The celebrations will start in Vlora e Ismaili, where the traditional ceremony of raising the flag with the two-headed vulture will be performed. Present at this event will be the highest heads of state, including the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti.
The special feature of this holiday will be the parade that will be held in the capital, where the mayors of municipalities and municipalities from all the Albanian-speaking regions of Albania, Montenegro, Macedonia, Presheva and Bujanoc will parade.
The special guests are the heads of Arbëresh municipalities in Italy and representatives of the American diaspora.
In addition to the symposiums and commemorative ceremonies of this holy day, the great celebration will be concluded at dinner with the festival of Gjirokastra, which brings some of the best parts of this event.
There will be celebrations for Flag Day in all Albanian cities, but the main center, like never before, this year will be Tirana.
