Sali Berisha said that the opposition will challenge in the Constitutional Court the agreement between Albania and Italy for the establishment of the reception center for asylum seekers in Shengjin.
"The text will be prepared and sent to the Constitutional Court. We think that there is a serious violation of the constitution, the signature of Edi Rama. We think that there are serious human rights problems, therefore, keeping our negative position, the opposition will turn to the Constitutional Court for the agreement.
While the attitude of Edi Rama and Linda of the parliament, is the most anti-democratic, anti-legal, anti-constitutional that has ever been held. The battle continues without turning back", said Berisha after the meeting with a group of deputies of the Democratic Party in the Presidency of the Assembly.
According to the agreement signed on November 6 in Italy, the neighboring country will set up a center in Gjadër of Lezha for the reception of up to 3,000 refugees per month, while their request for asylum is examined.
The refugees will enter Albania through the port of Shengjin, while the expenses of this entire operation will be covered by the Italian government. For this decision, then Prime Minister Rama said that Albania owed Italy, for everything it has done for Albanian immigrants over the years. Before entering into force, the agreement will first go through the Assembly. (A2 Televizion)
